Production Scheduler

Position Summary

The Production Planner & Scheduler is responsible for developing and executing daily and weekly production schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role balances customer demand, material availability, labor, and equipment capacity to ensure on-time production and efficient operations.

This position works directly with the production floor to monitor execution, adjust schedules in real time, and minimize downtime. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 and thrives in a live production setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
  • Translate sales orders, forecasts, and inventory demand into executable production plans
  • Sequence production to minimize changeovers, maximize throughput, and optimize labor utilization
  • Monitor capacity, labor availability, and material constraints to maintain achievable schedules
  • Track planned vs. actual production performance and adjust schedules in real time
  • Identify and resolve downtime, bottlenecks, and material shortages
  • Partner with Procurement to ensure raw materials and packaging are available to support production
  • Communicate daily priorities, schedule changes, and risks to Production Supervisors and Operations Leadership
  • Maintain accurate scheduling data in ERP to support MRP, capacity planning, and reporting
  • Participate in forecast reviews, production meetings, and cross-functional planning
  • Drive improvements in on-time delivery, schedule adherence, and production efficiency
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, inventory control, and operations

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with production planning and scheduling in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, or similar
  • Strong understanding of capacity planning, material planning, and production flow
  • Ability to make real-time decisions in a fast-paced production setting
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication with both production floor and office teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting constraints

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in food, beverage, or contract manufacturing (co-packing)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma required
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing operations

Work Environment

  • Combination of office and production floor environment
  • Regular interaction with production teams
  • Ability to walk the floor and lift up to 15 pounds as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
