Production Shift Supervisor

As a Production Shift Supervisor, you will manage plant production for Resin or Cationic Team operations. You will supervise approximately 13 production wage employees and will be directly accountable for daily management of wage employees, safety, quality, scheduling, plant productivity and efficiency related to production. Additional responsibilities include housekeeping, training, emergency response, and plant supervision coverage.

You will work in Circleville, OH plant and you will report to the Production Team Coordinator. PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.

You will operate on a 12-hour shift rotation, with hours from 7 PM to 7 AM. Please note that weekends are mandatory.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct a team of hourly production employees to safely operate the plant daily.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping in Kronos and Workday to ensure employees are paid.
  • Immediate response to quality, safety and environmental incidents including generation of incident report.
  • Maintain housekeeping initiatives such as 6S and daily housekeeping audits.
  • Ensure staffing for safe and efficient operation of reactor systems, raw material and finished product movement.
  • Participate in equipment maintenance preparation and execution including new equipment commissioning through safe practices such as Lock-Out/Tag-Out.
  • Work with Operations Manager, Continuous Improvement Manager and Production Team Coordinator to create and report production KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators).
  • Participate in daily Supervisor Meeting (Tier 2) along with other area supervisors to measure plant performance, establish and execute daily plan to correct deviations.
  • As a member of the Extended Leadership Team, you will be responsible for communicating and ensuring the successful execution of plant-wide initiatives

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in plant operations.
  • Experience with the operation of industrial equipment.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and set clear expectations.
  • Understand labor relations and experience in a union environment.
