The Production Engineer (Steel Fabrication) will oversee the entire fabrication process of structural steel components — ensuring quality, productivity, and on-time delivery. The role requires hands-on experience in steel structure production, knowledge of fabrication drawings, and coordination between design, planning, and workshop teams.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise daily fabrication activities in the workshop.
  • Review and interpret fabrication drawings and ensure correct execution on the shop floor.
  • Coordinate with design, QC, and procurement departments for smooth production flow.
  • Ensure material availability and monitor resource utilization to achieve production targets.
  • Maintain and monitor production records, manpower allocation, and project progress.
  • Implement best practices for welding, fitting, and finishing processes.
  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Control rework and wastage through continuous process improvement.
  • Liaise with Project Engineers for priority jobs and delivery deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
  • 3–8 years of experience in structural steel fabrication industry (workshop or site-based).
  • Strong understanding of fabrication drawings, WPS/PQR, and steel grades.
  • Knowledge of TEKLA, AutoCAD, and MS Office preferred.
  • Familiar with welding procedures, dimensional inspection, and QA/QC documentation.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
