(100%)* Submits new electronic and paper insurance claims. Performs follow up on outstanding insurances balances including contacting the insurance company and utilization of the internet. Makes appropriate decisions regarding the status of an account utilizing carrier specific billing knowledge.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews outstanding physician insurance claims on a timely basis.
Processes additional billings as required to obtain maximum payment on account.
Responds to correspondence appropriate to area of responsibility.
Communicates effectively with other department staff to resolve insurance billing issues.
Maintains accuracy of insurance and patient account status.
Understands payer billing requirements.
Resolve credit balances.
Performs other miscellaneous related duties.

Certifications and Licensures:N/A
Required Education:
High school diploma or GED is required.
Experience in medical billing, medical office setting and medical terminology perferred. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Software preferred.
