This is a 3.0 hour per day, 180 days per year, Professional/Technical Paraeducator in the Vision Programat Teaching and Learning Center. This position does not include benefits. Anticipated start date will be as soon as possible.
Hours for this position will vary.
Minimum Qualifications: Braille experience preferred. Must be willing to train and earn a certificate if not currently certified.
Preferred Qualifications: Braille proficient. Office Word 365 proficient.
JOB TITLE: Professional-Technical Paraeducator – Vision Program
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Paraeducator - MESP
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education
JOB SUMMARY:
Supports the education of visually impaired students in all programs by adapting instructional materials into alternate literary formats including but not limited to: Braille, large print, audio, digital, and tactile graphics; transcribes student Braille to text, provides 1-on-1 Braille instruction, assists students with daily activities; Assists with planning, reviewing, and implementing special education services for students; serves as a resource to other district personnel requiring assistance with blind and low vision students.
