Position Overview:

The Program Manager – Afterschool & Summer Camps is a full-time management position responsible for coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day implementation of FLIPANY’s afterschool and summer camp programming. FLIPANY operates through an agency-to-agency model, and this position works closely with internal teams, community partners, and funders to support high-quality out-of-school time programming.


This role supports Children’s Services Council (CSC)-funded Maximizing Out of School Time (MOST) afterschool and summer programs in Broward County and provides seasonal oversight of The Children’s Trust (TCT) funded summer camp programs in Miami-Dade County. This position supports FLIPANY’s first year of afterschool program implementation and plays a key role in program setup, including child care licensing preparation, staffing, site readiness, and operational planning.


The Program Manager ensures programs operate in alignment with approved scopes of work, licensing requirements, and funder expectations and supports required data entry, reporting, and compliance activities.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Level 2 background screening Required
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Active Director Credential (DCF or equivalent) required
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience coordinating or managing afterschool and/or summer camp programs
  • Experience with out‑of‑school time programming, licensing, compliance, or publicly funded youth programs (e.g., CSC, TCT, school districts) preferred
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to program sites

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams to support program coordination, communication, and documentation
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively and consistently meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with site staff, partner agencies, and internal teams
  • Working knowledge of youth program operations, licensing standards, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to adapt to seasonal program schedules and operational needs
  • Availability for occasional evenings and weekends as required for program needs, deadlines, or events

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and support the day-to-day operations of afterschool programs in Broward County
  • Support the launch of FLIPANY’s afterschool programming during the first year of implementation, start-up, including site readiness, schedules, staffing plans, and operational setup
  • Assist with preparation for required licenses, permits, inspections, and compliance documentation related to after-school and summer programming
  • Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and supervision of after-school and summer program staff
  • Provide onsite program support as needed to ensure safe, consistent, and high-quality program operations
  • Monitor daily attendance, program activities, and fidelity to approved scopes of work
  • Coordinate summer camp programming in Broward County, serving up to 60 youths.
  • Provide seasonal oversight of summer camp programs in Miami-Dade County, including periodic onsite support in Florida City
  • Serve as a point of contact for parents and caregivers during program hours, supporting enrollment, attendance, and ongoing communication
  • Assist families with enrollment processes, required forms, and program expectations
  • Support family engagement efforts and maintain positive, responsive communication with parents and caregivers in coordination with site partners and the Senior Program Manager
  • Conduct site visits as needed to support program quality, compliance, and operational consistency
  • Enter and maintain required program data in systems, including SAMIS, and support reporting requirements
  • Track attendance, services delivered, and program activities in alignment with funder requirements
  • Maintain accurate program files, documentation, and operational records
  • Coordinate with fiscal and program teams to support reimbursement, reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Support documentation of procedures, workflows, and operational practices during the first year of after-school implementation
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required to support program operations and organizational needs

Physical Requirements:

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Exposure to extreme temperatures, extreme sunlight, noise, heights, dirt, dust, and potentially hazardous chemicals is common. Work may be performed on uneven surfaces. While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee must be able to lift, carry and/or push articles weighing up to 50 lbs.


The employee is frequently required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. Must have use of hands to finger, handle, or feel and/or operate objects, tools, or controls.

Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of telephone and personal contact. Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English. Must have the ability to see, read, talk, and hear. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of equipment, such as, but not limited to, a personal computer, calculator, copy machine, and fax machine.
