Position Overview
CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Project Analyst to join our engineering team and participate in a fast paced, engaging, and innovative environment! The ideal candidate will be able to deliver impressive results committed to winning together while focused on continuous improvement. This position will play a valued role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our revenue systems and processes. This individual will assist the leadership team in maintaining and improving our project management processes to maximize revenue. This will be accomplished by working closely with project managers and the accounting team members to analyze customer contracts, create invoices, credits, revenue arrangements, and other supporting tasks. Collaborating with a team of hardworking engineers, this position will help improve our accounting documentation and revenue recognition processes!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the staff accountant team, project managers, and executives with tracking project finances and key metrics as required
- Research and resolve billing issues, as needed.
- Work with internal/external clients to support collections and reconcile billed amounts.
- Review revenue contracts to in accordance with company policy and revenue recognition accounting standards to support project set up and management.
- Create T&M billings from the actual, committed and forecasted costs for Projects on a timely basis.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new billing systems and processes to enhance efficiency.
- Work closely with Billing Manager and finance team to support best practices related to capture of information for use in project management, AR, AP, and revenue recognition.
- Collaborate with engineering services team and the finance team to ensure accuracy of percentage completion information.
- Assist in process improvement and automation of projects.
- Prepare support packages and reports for office leads and project managers as needed.
Desired Experience
- BS or BA preferred, with strong business management skills required
- 3+ years of accounting/business management experience
- Excellent communication skills are very important.
- Ability to compose effective and accurate correspondence cross-functionally with both executives and site project managers.
- Customer service oriented with Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn and utilize ERP systems
- Experience with Deltek is a plus.
- Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy and timely adherence to deadlines
- Strong team player, capable of dealing with complex issues
- Self-starter with ability to work independently
- Ability to adapt to changing processes and follow them, as well as suggest changes where needed
