Job Summary
The
Project Engineer – Fit-Out & Construction
is responsible for the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of interior fit-out and construction projects. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while strictly adhering to safety regulations and client specifications. The engineer serves as a central point of contact between Site Execution , contractors, suppliers, and Project Management Team along with Technical department , ensuring smooth project delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
Roles and Responsibilities

Project Planning

Develop and implement detailed project execution plans outlining objectives, timelines, resources, and budgets.

Coordinate with the Project Manager to align schedules, ensuring optimal resource allocation.

Provide expert input on overall project scheduling and planning strategies.
Team and Subcontractor Management

Assign tasks to Site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors based on project requirements.

Provide ongoing support, training, and guidance to team members.

Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure performance and accountability.

Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure smooth site progress without delays, ensuring all activities align with the project timeline.
Quality Control

Conduct regular site inspections to verify work quality and adherence to specifications.

Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, project standards, and best practices.

Identify and address quality issues or deviations promptly.

Daily Work Progress Coordination

Follow up daily with subcontractors and site teams to ensure task completion and progress toward project goals

Coordinate with project departments to align work schedules, ensuring project milestones and quality benchmarks are met.
Weekly Progress Monitoring

Review weekly progress reports submitted by site engineers, including:

Progress vs. baseline schedule

Material delivery updates
-
Status of submittals (shop drawings, material approvals)

Delays and revised timelines
-
On-site issues and variations
Design and Documentation

Collaborate with consultants, designers, and contractors to ensure compliance with local codes and design intent.

Review, coordinate, and approve technical drawings, materials, and construction timelines.

Ensure all documentation supports efficient project execution and is maintained accurately.
Budgeting and Cost Management

Monitor project budgets, including petty cash, ensuring alignment with financial targets.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and coordinate with the Procurement Department and Project Manager to negotiate better pricing with vendors.

Track financial performance and support the preparation of cost reports with the project Manager.
Health and Safety Compliance

Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations on-site.

Implement and monitor safety procedures and conduct regular safety audits.
-
Ensure all personnel are trained and equipped with appropriate safety gear.

Address incidents and hazards promptly and effectively.
Site Management

Maintain open and professional communication with Each department throughout the project lifecycle

Provide timely updates on progress, challenges, and deliverables.

Manage change requests and approvals while maintaining client satisfaction.
Reporting and Documentation

Prepare and submit detailed project reports for senior management and clients.

Maintain comprehensive documentation, including:
Progress logs
Cost tracking coordinate with procurement team & project Manager
Risk assessments

Highlight potential risks, delays, and proposed mitigation measures.
Professional Conduct & Local Compliance

Operate with high professionalism in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Ensure all work complies with Dubai Authorities regulations and relevant authority requirements.

Maintain a focus on delivering high-quality, efficient, and client-centric outcomes
Subcontractors’ Invoices and Payment Certificates
-
Ensure completed work on-site is verified against actual quantities for progressive payments.

Confirm that all required inspections are completed in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), and that work is approved by the QA/QC department.

Review and verify payment certificates in coordination with the Project Manager to ensure compliance with contract terms and alignment with the project timeline.
