We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE, to support the successful execution of oil and gas surface infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in reading and interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), working with surface production equipment, and managing fabrication and installation processes. This role requires strong interaction with clients, engineering teams, quality groups, wellsite employees, and vendors to ensure projects meet technical specifications, quality standards, and operational requirements.
Essential Duties and Responibilities:

Lead and support projects involving the development, fabrication, and installation of surface infrastructure for oil and gas applications.

Read, interpret, and analyze P&IDs, engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure proper equipment selection and system integration.

Conduct wellsite surveys prior to project execution, assessing site conditions, verifying infrastructure readiness, identifying potential challenges, and coordinating with clients, vendors, and field personnel to ensure seamless installation and operation of equipment.

Work closely with vendors, fabricators, and installation teams to ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including design engineers, procurement specialists, and field service teams, to streamline project workflows.

Ensure all equipment and systems adhere to local regulations, international standards (API, ASME, ISO), and ADNOC requirements where applicable.

Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to prevent delays or budget overruns.

Maintain detailed records of project progress, prepare technical reports, and provide regular updates to management, internal and external stakeholders.

Interact with customer to ensure safe and efficient field operations

Provide guidance and needed information for the internal engineering team to design required interface equipment when the equipment is not available off-the-shelf

Ensure that third-parties have specified the correct equipment to meet the requirements of safe and efficient operations

Prepare associated cost estimates and control costs for the company throughout the project

Participate in risk assessments before each field operation

Assure adequate third-party Quality Assurance and Quality Control of any equipment for the project

Typically operates as a one-person crew supervising third party service company personnel

Record all non-conformances and non-production time and report these to management, internal and external stakeholders

Ensure that all work within the area of responsibility is adequately documented and lessons learned are captured for the benefit of future operations

Provide technical feedbacks to internal engineering team to improve the safety and performance of the technology

Ensure that all activities comply with company standards and governmental regulations

Collaborate with other members of a multi-disciplinary engineering team to deliver each project efficiently
Skills and Experience Sought:

BS/MS in Engineering required
-
Minimum of five years of experience in onshore/offshore completion, production or workover operations
-
Strong ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and engineering documentation.

Experience with the design, selection, and integration of surface production equipment.

Familiarity with fabrication and installation processes, including welding, material selection, and testing procedures.

Experience in interacting with customers and third-party vendors

PMP or relevant industry certifications.

At least two years of project management or coordination experience

Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team environment

System integration experience with intelligent completion systems is a plus

Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

Must have highly perceptive listening skills and be open to ideas of others

Extensive knowledge of Well Interventions (slickline, e-line, pumping and coiled tubing), Completions, DST/TCP, Surface Testing and operations is a plus

Experiences in ESP and other completion equipment design is a plus but not required

IADC WellSharp or IWCF Well Intervention Pressure Control Certificate a plus

Experience in conducting well on paper, intervention campaigns and/or System Integration Testing (SIT) is a plus

Physical Demands:
The Project Engineer role requires a combination of office-based work and field visits to fabrication yards, vendor facilities, and oilfield wellsites. The position involves extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking, as well as the ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs) and work in elevated areas or confined spaces. The engineer must be physically capable of wearing required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steeltoe boots. Fieldwork may expose the individual to varying temperatures, humidity, loud noise, dust, fumes, and high-pressure equipment, necessitating strict adherence to safety protocols. Travel to client sites, vendor locations, or offshore facilities may be required based on project needs.
