Job Summary:
The Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering and infrastructure projects within port operations. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining compliance with port standards, environmental regulations, and operational efficiency goals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee engineering projects related to port cranes, intermodal systems, and cargo handling equipment.
- Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations in collaboration with internal teams and contractors.
- Support installation, maintenance, and modernization projects for port infrastructure and mechanical/electrical systems.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and progress reports.
- Interface with port authorities, contractors, vendors, and internal operations teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Review and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and schematics.
- Assist with procurement of project materials and ensure adherence to cost and quality standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot engineering or logistical challenges as they arise.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance port efficiency, reliability, and safety.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in industrial, marine, or port-related engineering projects.
- Working knowledge of cranes, heavy equipment, or port systems preferred.
- Familiarity with project management principles (PMP certification a plus).
- Strong communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and general Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to work in an active port environment and adhere to all safety standards.
