The Role
We are looking for a seasoned professional to take full ownership of our job sites. This isn’t a "sit in the truck" role; it’s a leadership position for someone with boots on the ground who understands how to orchestrate men, machines, and materials. You will be the primary point of contact on-site, ensuring that projects are built to spec, on time, and safely.
This is not a mowing and mulching role.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead and mentor field crews, managing daily tasks and maintaining high morale and productivity.
- Blueprint Mastery: Read and interpret complex construction drawings, ensuring all work—from elevations to layouts—is executed with 100% accuracy.
- Logistics Management: Coordinate material deliveries, equipment scheduling, and subcontractor movements to prevent downtime.
- Quality Control: Serve as the final word on craftsmanship. We need someone who catches mistakes before they are buried or poured.
- Problem Solving: Navigate on-site surprises (utility conflicts, equipment malfunctions, weather, etc.) with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Safety Culture Oversight: Responsible for conducting daily "Toolbox" safety meetings and ensuring 100% PPE compliance for all crew members as well as proper equipment operation.
- Multi-Machine Operation: High proficiency across a broad fleet, including: large scale excavators, skid steers, and wheel loaders. CDL preferred.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Experience: At least 2 years leading crews in excavation, landscape construction projects.
- Technical Literacy: You must be fluent in blueprints, site plans, and transit/level operation.
- Reliability: We need a leader we can leave on a site and trust that the project is moving forward correctly without constant oversight.
- Communication: Ability to clearly explain tasks to the crew and provide concise updates to the customers, inspectors, and office.
What We Stand For
- Purpose and Sense of Urgency Purpose gives a clear understanding of why work matters and how daily tasks contribute to the bigger mission.
- Vulnerability Vulnerability builds trust, accountability, and growth within the team.
- Mindfulness Mindfulness is maintaining awareness of the present moment and surroundings while making thoughtful decisions.
Why This Role Matters
A Project Lead position bridges the gap between plans and reality, management and crew, and promises and delivery. This role ensures that projects are completed with integrity, efficiency, and craftsmanship while developing strong teams and lasting client relationships.
Success in this role comes from leading through Purpose, Vulnerability, and Mindfulness, and from taking pride in doing the right thing every day.
