About the Role
Tiemann Land and Cattle Development, Inc., a family-owned real estate development and ranching company, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Project Manager. In this role, you will support the planning and execution of various projects, including the construction of all aspects of residential subdivisions and land development initiatives across Travis and Williamson Counties.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all phases of project management within the residential subdivision development business — from design through construction and project closeout — while working alongside experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities and Candidate Requirements
- Total ownership of assigned construction projects. Total accountability is our expectation.
- Drive successful (on budget and on time) construction execution through frequent contractor and consultant touch points, onsite visits, and recurring meetings with relevant contractors.
- Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and documentation throughout pre-development, design, permitting, construction, and closeout phases.
- Interact with field management and field personnel.
- Facilitate coordination with internal team members and external partners, including contractors, engineers, consultants, surveyors, and local government agencies.
- Help prepare and maintain project reports, meeting notes, spreadsheets, and tracking logs.
- Monitor construction progress through regular site visits and help address day-to-day issues such as design and change orders, vendor coordination, and punch list items.
- Organize and maintain project files, contracts, drawings, and records.
- Provide support for bidding processes, vendor management, invoice tracking, and payment applications.
- Organize and lead on-site project meetings and help prepare status updates for senior leadership.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent acceptable assuming significant, relevant experience.
- Experience: 1–5 years of relevant experience (roles in construction, land development, or project coordination preferred).
- Soft Skills:
- Must be mature, flexible, able to command the respect and confidence of others, philosophically committed to the objectives of the Company, and possess a high tolerance of mental stress.
- Ability to work well at project sites in the field environment.
- Ability to prioritize and plan work schedules and use time effectively.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a collaborative manner.
- Ability to handle physical and mental stress associated with working extended hours.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment and take initiative.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Basic understanding of real estate concepts, construction processes, or land development is helpful but not required.
- Other: Citizen of the United States, valid Texas driver’s license, and reliable transportation. Ability to visit active construction and undeveloped land sites (outdoor work in various weather conditions). Must be comfortable working in both office and field environments.
