Job Purpose:
To plan and manage the execution of retail / building projects of the Group from inception to completion by effectively managing Clients, Principals, Landlords, statutory authorities and contractors, materials procurement and all applicable/ available resources to ensure completion of the projects within the agreed specification/ quality standards, budgets and timelines to meet clients’ communicated objectives.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Prepare a project execution plan in consultation with Business, Design and the Developers to accomplish its objectives within constraints of time, quality and agreed costs

Implement approved procedures for tendering, selection and appointment of contractors, labour matters, payment terms, dealings and communication between all parties – clients, architects, consultants and contractors, and redressal of issues for effective coordination and collaboration.

Develop project strategic program detailing key milestones including concept and detail design delivery, procurement of direct supply items, contractor’s scope of work extending to construction period and handover date to the Client.

Manage the design process for the project ensuring the agreed design milestone deliverables are met in accordance with the project programme.

Float tenders, invite proposals, analyse and recommend to senior management, the list of vendors / subcontractors / suppliers capable of executing projects within agreed time and cost.

Review and approve the drawings submitted by contractors and ensure that they are examined by all parties concerned i.e., Business, Marketing, Landlords and local authorities.

Coordinate with Consultants and contractors (where applicable) on all issues pertaining to drawings, programs, schedules and ensure timely resolution of all issues. Also monitor progress against the project program and keep the Management and Business updated on project progress.

Manage all aspects of the individual project contract requirements to ensure contract deliverables are adequately addressed and closed out at project completion.

Conduct quality checks to ensure that the materials meet all client specifications, coordinate with all concerned to ensure adherence to quality, health and safety regulations.

Prepare and update the store tracking report on a weekly basis to reflect the progress of store delivery and roll out and flag any issues to all concerned and initiate remedial action to ensure execution of project as scheduled.

Coordinate with QS to produce the CAPEX for all new projects, in a timely manner and submit to Business for review and approval.

Provide accurate information to QS on percentage of jobs completed and, on any variations, to ensure that no over payments are made to the sub-contractors / suppliers.

Carry out final inspection, prepare a snag list along with Operations and ensure snags are attended to or rectified by the relevant subcontractors.

Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles.
Skills and Experience:

8 to10 years’ work experience in a construction industry with latter years in a responsible project management position.

Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification relevant to construction project management.
