Pre-Construction Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Scheduling
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Create detailed project schedules and timelines (e.g., using MS Project or Primavera).
- Plan resource allocation (materials, labor, equipment).
- Cost Estimation & Budgeting
- Prepare and manage project budgets.
- Review and approve cost estimates and bids from subcontractors.
- Contract Negotiation & Procurement
- Select contractors and negotiate contracts.
- Procure materials and equipment.
- Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and create mitigation plans.
- Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and environmental regulations.
Planning & Design:
- Review design drawings, alignment, and geotechnical reports.
- Coordinate with civil engineers for grading, drainage, and pavement design.
Execution:
- Oversee earthworks, subgrade preparation, and pavement layers (WBM, DBM, BC, etc.).
- Manage equipment like graders, compactors, and pavers.
- Monitor quality tests: soil compaction, bitumen content, core cutting, etc.
- Scheduling and progress tracking (e.g., Gantt charts).
- Procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Budget control, cost tracking, and invoicing.
- Compliance with safety codes (IS codes, IRC, ASTM, AASHTO as applicable).
Coordination:
- Liaise with utility companies for shifting pipelines, cables, etc.
- Coordinate traffic diversion plans and ensure public safety.
- Stakeholder reporting and client communication.
2. Bridge Construction – CPM Responsibilities
Technical Oversight:
- Review structural drawings, load calculations, and reinforcement details.
- Supervise foundation works (open, pile, well foundations).
- Manage construction of substructure (piers, abutments) and superstructure (girders, decks).
Safety & Quality:
- Ensure safety during high-risk tasks like working at heights, lifting heavy components, and underwater work (if applicable).
- Monitor testing: concrete strength (cube tests), rebar inspections, NDT for welds, etc.
Environmental & Legal Compliance:
- Secure permits (especially over rivers, railways).
- Ensure environmental safeguards (silt barriers, erosion control).
3. Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEBs) – CPM Responsibilities
Design Coordination:
- Work closely with the design team and PEB manufacturer to finalize structural and architectural drawings.
- Ensure compatibility of foundations with steel structures.
Fabrication & Erection:
- Oversee delivery and inspection of factory-fabricated steel components.
- Plan erection sequence using cranes and lifting equipment.
- Supervise bolting, welding, and alignment of steel frames.
Finishing & Handover:
- Manage installation of roofing sheets, wall cladding, insulation, and accessories.
- Coordinate with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) teams.
- Conduct punch-list walkthrough and final client handover.
Post-Construction Responsibilities
- Project Documentation
- Maintain thorough records of costs, schedules, changes, and correspondence.
- Prepare final reports and as-built drawings.
- Final Inspection & Handover
- Oversee final walkthroughs and inspections.
- Ensure all punch-list items are completed.
- Handover the completed project to the client or facility manager.
- Closeout & Evaluation
- Close contracts and obtain final approvals.
- Evaluate project outcomes and team performance for future improvements.
- Budget control, cost tracking, and invoicing.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
