Project Manager, Generators

Responsible for managing projects starting at point of hand-over from marketing through completion and close-out with the customer; liaisons with marketing at early stages of opportunity as needed. Manages the customer relationship through the project life cycle and well as job schedule and budget. Maintains sufficient control and oversight to provide comprehensive project status reports to customers and management.

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible to manage customer relationships through the project life cycle as well as the job schedule and budget.
  • Responsible for managing projects starting at point of hand-over from marketing through completion and close out with customers.
  • Provide project status to customers and management.
  • Covers the following key elements:
    • Contract management, including contract changes; liaison with senior management on as-needed basis throughout contract and project life cycle.
    • Customer relationship, including status reporting, change order management and single point of contact.
    • Cost and schedule visibility covering total project across the multiple involved facilities.
    • Provide timely feedback to operations management as needed to maintain required progress.
    • Initiate invoicing via milestones or percentage of completion and resolve payment issues.
    • Anticipate and resolve problems with internal and external customers; expedite as necessary.
    • Internal reporting on key job status indicators.

WORK QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Should have knowledge and experience with high-speed turbo-machinery with a background in fabrication, manufacturing, or repair.

Preferred:

  • PMI certification or equal is desired

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • A BSME or BA with 5-6 years of related experience is preferred. Non-degreed candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the role.
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time or until the end of the assigned shift.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. safely and properly, as needed throughout the assigned shift with or without assistance.
  • Must be able to bend/stoop, squat, reach above shoulder height, crouch, balance, and push/pull.
