Project Manager II-Java Backend

Project & Delivery Leadership

• Lead cross‑functional Scrum/Agile teams to deliver backend and API‑driven projects on time and within scope.
• Own project planning, sprint execution, risk management, and stakeholder alignment from inception to release.
• Drive governance, sprint ceremonies, reporting, and cross‑team coordination across backend, QA, DevOps, and cloud teams.
• Ensure clear documentation, architectural traceability, design decisions, and compliance with engineering standards.

Technical Oversight (Backend‑Focused)

• Review, understand, and influence solution architecture, API designs, sequence diagrams, and integration points.
• Collaborate with engineering leads to ensure scalable backend solutions using modern languages, frameworks, and distributed systems practices.
• Support engineering in debugging, performance optimization, and production readiness reviews

Stakeholder & Communication Management

• Act as the bridge between technical and non‑technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts clearly.
• Engage with product, architecture, customer leadership, and external vendors to ensure alignment and delivery clarity.
• Provide visibility into project health, risks, KPIs, team velocity, and quality metrics.

Operational Excellence

• Champion Agile delivery, engineering KPIs, DevOps culture, and continuous improvement.
• Drive change management, release readiness, and post‑release stabilization activities.
• Mentor teams, foster high‑performance culture, and support onboarding of technical talent.

Core

• 15+ years total experience with at least 8+ years in backend engineering ( APIs, microservices, integration, distributed systems ).
• Strong technical background in Java‑based backend systems
• Solid understanding of cloud‑native architecture and AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, IAM, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret solution designs, technical specifications, and integration contracts.
• Proven experience managing medium to large programs with cross‑functional engineering teams.

Delivery Leadership

• Strong Agile/Scrum management experience.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering workflow tools.
• Strong grasp of Agile metrics (velocity, throughput, quality KPIs)

Soft Skills

• Exceptional communication, stakeholder handling, and expectation management.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive outcomes across globally distributed teams.

• Exposure to Node.js, microservices modernization, or experience guiding migrations.
• Knowledge of QA automation, performance testing tools, or observability stacks.
• Experience in regulated or large‑enterprise environments.
