POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Project Manager – Public Works at LJA Land Development, you will be responsible for administering and managing civil engineering projects from design through construction. You’ll oversee staff, budgets, and schedules while ensuring quality and client satisfaction.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Designing general water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Preparing and reviewing construction documents using AutoCAD, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Conducting QA/QC reviews of plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Coordinating with government agencies to process construction documents.
• Attending client and contractor meetings.
• Providing bid phase and construction phase services, including field visits, inspections, and reports.
• Managing project budgets and schedules.
• Supervising technical staff and EITs.
• Supporting marketing and proposal efforts with existing and potential clients.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (required)
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Civil/Public Works Engineering.
• 2+ years’ experience as a P.E. preferred.
• Project design and management experience for public works clients in the Texas Gulf Coast region.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build strong client relationships.

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:

• Experience leading a project team through design and construction phases.
• Strong marketing and business development skills.
• Proven record of QA/QC excellence and attention to detail.
