Airport Project Site Inspector – Full-time

THE POSITION
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail‑oriented Airport Project Site Inspector to oversee construction activities across the airfield and airport facilities.

Conduct daily inspections of airport construction projects.

Ensure contractor compliance with FAA, FDOT, and airport engineering standards.

Monitor Construction Safety and Phasing Plan (CSPP) elements.

Verify grades, elevations, and tolerances.

Review materials, test reports, and as-built documents.

Prepare inspection reports and document deficiencies.

Coordinate with contractors, consultants, Airport Operations, FAA, and FDOT.

Support NOTAM coordination and airfield closures.
REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Applicants must meet one of the following minimum qualification pathways:

Degree-Based Pathway: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in construction management, civil engineering, engineering technology, construction engineering, or a closely related field, and one (1) year of relevant construction, engineering, inspection, project coordination, or field experience.

Experience-Based Pathway: Five (5) years of progressively responsible construction, engineering, inspection, or field experience related to civil, airfield, transportation, utility, building, or public works projects.

An equivalent combination of education, training, and directly related experience may be considered, provided the candidate demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position.

Candidates must also possess the ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications, codes, and technical documents; document field observations and inspection findings; use standard computer software and inspection-related technology; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; and work collaboratively with contractors, consultants, staff, and other project stakeholders.
