Airport Project Site Inspector – Full-time

THE POSITION

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail‑oriented Airport Project Site Inspector to oversee construction activities across the airfield and airport facilities.

• Conduct daily inspections of airport construction projects.
• Ensure contractor compliance with FAA, FDOT, and airport engineering standards.
• Monitor Construction Safety and Phasing Plan (CSPP) elements.
• Verify grades, elevations, and tolerances.
• Review materials, test reports, and as-built documents.
• Prepare inspection reports and document deficiencies.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, Airport Operations, FAA, and FDOT.
• Support NOTAM coordination and airfield closures.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Applicants must meet one of the following minimum qualification pathways:
  • Degree-Based Pathway: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in construction management, civil engineering, engineering technology, construction engineering, or a closely related field, and one (1) year of relevant construction, engineering, inspection, project coordination, or field experience.
  • Experience-Based Pathway: Five (5) years of progressively responsible construction, engineering, inspection, or field experience related to civil, airfield, transportation, utility, building, or public works projects.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and directly related experience may be considered, provided the candidate demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Candidates must also possess the ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications, codes, and technical documents; document field observations and inspection findings; use standard computer software and inspection-related technology; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; and work collaboratively with contractors, consultants, staff, and other project stakeholders.
