Job Title: Project & Operations Lead – HRMS & Payroll Enhancement

Preferred Location: Trivandrum, Kerala

Experience Required: 7–12 years (including 3+ years in team or project leadership)

Position Overview

The Project & Operations Lead will oversee the operations of the newly established development office and lead a team of software professionals involved in enhancing the Payroll & HRMS System.

This role serves as the central coordination point between the software owning company, the outsourced development partner, and the in-house team to ensure smooth communication, project alignment, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination

  • Act as the bridge between the outsourced development company and the software owning company.
  • Ensure proper communication of project requirements, timelines, and deliverables between all parties.
  • Track progress of enhancement modules, ensuring adherence to quality and deadlines.
  • Conduct regular status meetings, prepare progress reports, and escalate critical issues as needed.

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Lead and mentor a team of developers, database engineers, and QA staff in the new office.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, attendance, and performance of local staff.
  • Facilitate collaboration, knowledge sharing, and code quality standards.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of new technical staff.
  • Ensure a productive and professional work environment aligned with the company’s standards.

Technical Oversight

  • Participate in architecture discussions, technical reviews, and requirement analysis.
  • Provide guidance on technologies including SQL Server, PHP (CodeIgniter), React, RESTful APIs, and AI integration modules.
  • Ensure security, scalability, and maintainability of the developed system.
  • Coordinate integration and testing with outsourced teams.

Process & Compliance

  • Maintain project documentation, task allocation, and version control procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to software development life cycle (SDLC) best practices.
  • Align all activities with company policies, confidentiality, and data security guidelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 7–12 years of total IT experience, with at least 3 years in a lead or coordination role.
  • Strong expertise in:
  • SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, optimization)
  • PHP (CodeIgniter or Laravel frameworks)
  • React / JavaScript frameworks
  • API development & integration (REST, JSON)
  • Familiarity with AI/ML and cloud-based technologies (Azure/AWS) preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-company coordination.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience managing hybrid or outsourced software development projects is highly desirable.

Preferred Attributes

  • Hands-on technical capability to review code and database design.
  • Prior experience in HRMS / Payroll systems or enterprise application development.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
