Proposal Engineer

SAT International seeks a skilled Proposal Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Proposal Engineer plays a crucial role in developing precise and competitive proposals that align with client requirements and company objectives. This position demands a strong foundation in project management, cost estimation, and contract review to effectively contribute to winning bids and supporting business growth. The ideal candidate possesses a Master's degree in engineering or an equivalent technical field and has at least two years of relevant experience. Excellent spoken and written English skills are essential for effective communication internally and with clients. The Proposal Engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to analyze client needs and prepare detailed bills of materials and cost estimates. They participate in bid/no-bid decision-making processes and conduct thorough risk analysis to minimize potential pitfalls in project proposals. While this role does not involve managing a team, strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are vital to ensure timely and accurate submission of proposals consistent with company standards and client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive and competitive proposals by integrating client requirements, technical specifications, and cost considerations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments including engineering, procurement, and finance to gather necessary information for proposal preparation.
• Prepare detailed bills of materials (BOM) and cost estimations to accurately reflect project scope and pricing.
• Review contracts and bid documents to identify risks, terms, and conditions that may impact the proposal.
• Participate in bid/no-bid decision-making by evaluating the feasibility and strategic fit of potential contracts.
• Analyze client needs and provide tailored solutions that align with company capabilities and project objectives.
• Manage the bid submission process ensuring compliance with deadlines and all required documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of all proposal development activities and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Conduct thorough risk analysis related to technical, financial, and contractual aspects to protect company interests.
• Coordinate with clients to clarify proposal-related details and improve client relationship management.
• Continuously improve proposal development processes and templates to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and best practices to maintain competitive advantage.
