Position Overview

Yellowlite is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Proposal Writer to support our growing pipeline of commercial and residential solar opportunities. This role is responsible for developing compelling, accurate, and visually engaging proposals that communicate the financial, technical, and environmental value of solar energy solutions.
The ideal candidate blends strong writing skills with an understanding of business strategy, energy solutions, and customer-focused messaging. You will collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and marketing teams to craft proposals that win business and reinforce Yellowlite’s brand as a trusted energy partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and manage high-quality proposals for commercial and residential solar projects
  • Translate technical solar designs, financial models, and ROI data into clear, persuasive messaging
  • Collaborate with sales teams to tailor proposals to specific client needs, industries, and use cases
  • Work with engineering and operations teams to ensure technical accuracy and feasibility
  • Develop and maintain proposal templates, boilerplate content, and case study libraries
  • Customize proposals to highlight key value drivers such as:
  • Cost savings & ROI timelines
  • Energy independence & resilience
  • ESG and sustainability impact
  • Ensure all proposals align with Yellowlite branding, tone, and messaging standards
  • Manage multiple proposals simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
  • Continuously improve proposal processes, tools, and content effectiveness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, English, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in proposal writing, technical writing, or sales support
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical and financial information into clear, compelling narratives
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Experience working cross-functionally with sales, engineering, or technical teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and presentation tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in solar, renewable energy, construction, or engineering industries
  • Familiarity with RFP/RFQ processes and bid management
  • Understanding of financial concepts such as ROI, payback periods, and cost-benefit analysis
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Zoho) and proposal software/tools
  • Graphic/layout experience (InDesign, Canva, or similar) is a plus

Pay: $73,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year
