Protection and Commissioning Engineer – Electrical

Muscat, Oman

Looking for an experienced Protection and Commissioning Engineer with over 15-20 years dedicated to the successful delivery of electrical substation projects and shall hold LEVEL III witness approval.

An Electrical Protection and Commissioning Engineer verify the integrity of electrical systems and its requirements including various system study for the protective devices before and after they are brought in service, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with design specifications and standards. He shall be involved in site test witness, developing commissioning plans, conducting pre-commissioning checks, performing functional and performance tests on equipment and protection systems, resolving identified faults, creating detailed documentation, and providing technical support to ensure safe and efficient completion of the Projects as per the schedule.

Develop commissioning plans, procedures, and risk assessments, and prepare all necessary documentation and report. Conduct thorough inspections, site testing witness and tests on components including Diff/Dist relays to ensure correct installation, wiring, and grounding, verifying compliance with design specification. Perform functional tests on electrical equipment, including circuit breakers, relays, and protection systems, to ensure they operate as intended. Analyze system data, conduct performance tests, and assess system efficiency to identify and resolve any issues or bottlenecks. Identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical faults and issues that arise during the commissioning process. Provide technical expertise, support, and training to other engineers, project managers, and site personnel on operational procedures and system functions. Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
