Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Protection Engineer
with strong expertise in substation protection systems and relay coordination. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing protection designs, relay settings, and testing activities in accordance with
OETC standards and protection philosophy
. The role also involves coordination with OEMs, CRP panel builders, and utility engineers to ensure compliance and approval of protection schemes.
Key Responsibilities

Review
CT and VT requirements
as per approved Single Line Diagrams (SLD) including sizing and calculation verification.

Review
Protection & Metering Diagrams (PMD)
in accordance with OETC protection philosophy and standards.

Review
Block Logic Diagrams (BLD)
for protection schemes.

Conduct
relay list review
to ensure compliance with OETC technical requirements and standards.

Coordinate with
CRP panel builders
and review scheme drawings to ensure alignment with project specifications.

Review and validate
protection relay setting calculations
.

Represent the client/utility during
protection system testing and commissioning activities
.

Witness and verify
protection relay testing and scheme functionality
.

Coordinate with
OETC protection engineers
for approvals, documentation, and testing processes.
Requirements

Minimum
10 years of experience
in protection engineering for
substation or transmission projects
.

Strong knowledge of
protection schemes, relay coordination, and substation protection systems
.

Experience reviewing
SLD, PMD, BLD, relay settings, and scheme drawings
.

Experience working with
CRP panels and protection relay testing
.

Familiarity with
utility protection standards and approval procedures
.
Preferred Qualifications

Level 3 approval from relay manufacturer
(e.g., protection relay OEM certification).

Previous approval or experience working with OETC projects
will be highly preferred.
