Psychiatric Medical Administrative Assistant-Spanish Speaking

Part-time psychiatric Medical Administrative Assistant (Independent Contractor) 10-20 hours per week.

About Us Physician Advisors is a compassionate psychiatric and mental health practice committed to providing high-quality, confidential, and patient-centered care. We are seeking a professional an empathetic Spanish-speaking Medical Administrative Assistant to join us as an independent contractor to primarily support the administrative staff with clerical duties.

Ideally Suited For: This position is an excellent opportunity for Medical Assistant (MA) seeking real-world experience in a private practice setting. Location: Physician Advisors, Weston, Florida Employment Type: Part-Time | Independent Contractor (1099) Schedule: Shifts are approx. 5–6 hours (Schedule TBD).

Position Status

  • Contractor Role: This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. The successful candidate will be responsible for their own taxes and will not be an employee of the practice.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Front Office Management: Serve as the first point of contact for patients, answering phones, and managing inquiries with sensitivity and discretion.
  • Scheduling & Intake: Coordinate psychiatric appointments, therapy sessions, and medication management visits using our EHR system.
  • Administrative Support: Verify insurance eligibility, obtain prior authorizations, review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), and handle referrals.
  • Financials: Collect co-pays and manage basic billing processing.
  • Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA and mental health confidentiality regulations.
  • Office Logistics: Maintain a clean and organized office environment. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs (e.g., accepting deliveries, restocking office supplies, or moving files).

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong computer proficiency (EHR experience is a plus).
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with high emotional intelligence.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs (boxes, supplies, files).
