Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Position Overview

Rooted Pathways Counseling & Consulting is seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide medication management services for clients experiencing depression, anxiety, and related mental health concerns.

This is a part-time position ideal for a provider who values a collaborative, client-centered approach and is passionate about supporting holistic mental health care within a therapy-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

Medication Management

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management for clients
• Prescribe and monitor medications for depression, anxiety, and related conditions
• Adjust treatment plans based on client progress and clinical presentation

Client Care & Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with therapists to support integrated care
• Provide psychoeducation to clients regarding medications, side effects, and treatment expectations
• Maintain a warm, respectful, and culturally responsive approach to care

Documentation & Compliance

• Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation
• Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems (SimplePractice)

Practice Support

• Communicate effectively with administrative staff regarding scheduling and client needs
• Participate in occasional case consultations with the clinical team as needed

Qualifications

• Active Illinois licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
• DEA license and prescriptive authority in Illinois
• Experience treating depression, anxiety, and common mental health disorders
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Experience in outpatient/private practice settings
• Comfort working with diverse populations
• Interest in integrated, therapy-centered care models

Schedule

• Part-time, flexible scheduling
• Option for in-person, hybrid, or telehealth services

Pay: From $60.00 per hour
