Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient assessments, mental status examinations, and diagnostic evaluations using EMR systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including psychopharmacology treatments tailored to individual needs.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients across outpatient, inpatient, emergency room, and telehealth settings.
• Provide crisis intervention and triage services for patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes or emergencies.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic care strategies.
• Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
• Engage in ongoing professional development by participating in clinical research initiatives, staying current with ICD-10 coding updates, and integrating new treatment modalities such as esthetic laser treatments or Botox therapy when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with valid licensure in the practicing state.
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring memory care or dementia support.
• Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; experience with telehealth platforms is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, medication administration protocols, and behavioral health treatment strategies.
• Critical care experience or hospital medicine background preferred; familiarity with acute pain management and ICU or trauma center experience is advantageous.
• Ability to perform physical examinations, vital signs assessment, and diagnostic evaluations confidently.
• Excellent communication skills for patient education, family planning discussions, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law and utilization review processes is a plus; additional expertise in hospice & palliative medicine or occupational health can enhance your impact.
