Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Private Practice)

About the job

NP-Owned Practice · W-2 · No Evenings · No Call · Competitive Commission

Why Balance Mental Health

Balance Mental Health is a psychiatric nurse practitioner-owned group practice in Concord, New Hampshire. We specialize in general adult outpatient psychiatry with a strong focus on ADHD and neurodivergence, trauma-informed care, and LGBTQIA+ affirming treatment.

We built this practice around one premise: clinicians do their best work when they have autonomy, support, and a caseload that actually fits their values. We don’t have corporate overhead, productivity quotas disconnected from reality, or the chaos of inpatient and emergency settings. What we do have is a warm, collaborative team, and a patient population that is engaged in their care.

What Makes This Role Different

  • NP-owned and operated — clinical decisions stay with clinicians
  • No after-hours, no on-call — ever
  • You set your own schedule within a hybrid framework (2–4 days in-office, Concord, NH)
  • Virtual receptionist handles scheduling, screening, and patient intake logistics
  • Comprehensive billing support — you focus on patients, not claims
  • Marketing and advertising investment to build your caseload efficiently
  • Bright, well-equipped office space with collaborative colleagues

The Role

You will carry an independent general adult outpatient psychiatry caseload, conducting psychiatric evaluations and medication management via in-person and telehealth appointments. You’ll work collaboratively with our therapy staff and maintain timely, thorough documentation.

This is not a supervised or transitional role. We are looking for a clinician who is ready to practice with full autonomy and wants to build a stable, values-aligned panel.

Core responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management for adult patients
  • Provide hybrid care — in-person in Concord, NH, and telehealth
  • Order and interpret relevant laboratory and diagnostic studies
  • Collaborate with in-house therapists and make referrals as clinically appropriate
  • Complete documentation within 24 hours of each encounter

Who We’re Looking For

  • Licensed PMHNP with active NH licensure (or ability to obtain)
  • DEA registration, current or eligible
  • Comfortable working with adults across a range of presentations — mood, anxiety, ADHD, trauma
  • Culturally humble and affirming with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent patients
  • Self-directed, organized, and committed to documentation timeliness
  • 2+ years of PMHNP clinical experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical training considered

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is W-2 and commission-based. Compensation is highly competitive for qualified candidates and reflects the earning potential of an efficient outpatient psychiatric panel.

Benefits include:

  • Health and dental insurance
  • Paid federal holidays
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Paid malpractice/liability insurance
  • Paid on-site gym access, 24 hours a day

Location & Schedule

2 Delta Drive, Suite 303, Concord, NH 03301. Hybrid schedule with 2–4 days per week in-office. Telehealth days flexible. No weekend or evening requirements.
