Prairie Path Counseling & Wellness is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing outpatient mental health practice serving clients across Iowa via telehealth, with a new in-person office opening June 1 on SW 3rd Street in Ankeny.

This is an ideal role for a provider who values autonomy, flexibility, and meaningful clinical work. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape a new office space while working within a supportive, collaborative team—without the burden of large-system bureaucracy.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and medication management
• Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications independently
• Collaborate with therapists for coordinated client care
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in TherapyNotes EHR
• Provide services via telehealth and optional in-person sessions

Qualifications:

• Licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
• Active, unrestricted Iowa license
• DEA license (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to practice and prescribe independently
• Experience in outpatient mental health preferred

Compensation:
65% of collections (uncapped earning potential)

Typical full-time earnings range: $130,000–$190,000+ annually, depending on caseload and schedule.

This model allows providers to control their income based on the number of clients they choose to see, with strong internal referrals to support building a full caseload quickly.

Flexible structure options available (W2 or 1099).

Many of our providers reach a full caseload within 4–8 week
