Delivery of Clinical Services

RESPONSIBILIES:

Manages the diagnosis, evaluation, planning, treatment, and admission or discharge of all assigned patients.

Assists the Chairman in providing psychiatric services to patients at the Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital, Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital and the Schaeffer Care Center.

Assumes duties of the doctor on-call for the Department of Psychiatry, as assigned by the Chairman.

Acts as a liaison to emergency room and other hospital units for evaluation of patients for possible admission or transfer to the psychiatric unit.

Completes all required documentation within required timeframes.

Participates in the quality assurance functions for the Department of Psychiatry as needed.

Attends clinical and administrative meetings as assigned by the Chairman.

Participates in the development, review, and revision of policies and procedures for the Department of Psychiatry, if required to do so by the Chairman of the Department.

Contributes to and maintains good relationships with health agencies in the community.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION:

The position requires a physician licensed in the State of New York and eligible for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology who is trained and competent in clinical psychiatry.
