Public Relations and Events Senior Executive

Objective of Position:

Build MBGD’s PR Strategy and maintain public and media relations programs enhancing its public image. Cultivate good relationships between MBGD and key automotive and non-automotive regional media through planned publicity

campaigns and a wide range of PR activities centrally, regionally and locally. Fully responsible for all Media Events & IPTDs, Press Cars and Press Releases. Co-responsible for Regional Events and Product Launch events, Sponsorships and Partnerships.


Main Tasks Description:


Strategic Approach PR:

  • Plan, develop and implement a yearly PR strategy for the region, in line with the marketing strategy
  • Provide PR support at GD level where required


Operational PR Tasks:

  • Managing, steering and being the main contact for the PR agency
  • Being the main contact to the Comm- department at MB AG
  • Liaising with and answering enquiries from media, individuals and other organizations, often via telephone and email
  • Liaising with colleagues and key spokespeople
  • Researching, writing, and distributing press releases to targeted media;
  • Developing content including editorials, Q&As, speeches, and briefing documents.
  • Collating and analyzing media coverage in the region
  • Organizing events including press conferences, exhibitions, and press tours
  • Supporting the planning and execution of PR- events (test-drives, press conferences, press events and international activities)
  • Managing the PR aspect of a potential crisis situation
  • Maintaining and updating specific information on the MBCME press center
  • Maintaining a professional and close relationship with the media
  • Managing the press fleet and maintaining accurate records and reports related to the press cars


Sponsorship- and Partnerships process:

  • Adherence of the MBCME Sponsoring/Donation process
  • Tracking of all Sponsoring/Donations inquiries
  • Regular reports for the Local Sponsorship committee


Events:

  • Strategic planning and coordination of Media Events
  • Planning and executing regional launches and events


Educational Background:

Graduate / Post Graduate degree in PR, Marketing or Business Administration with focus on communication and PR. Additional vocational training in creative writing, media training and crisis communications management preferred.


Technical Knowledge:

  • PR experience in dealing with the press is a pre-requisite
  • Automotive marketing experience is a plus
  • Experience on the PR agency front / advertising agency experience is a must
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent fluent English and Arabic (written and verbal) is a must, German would be beneficial


Level of Experience:

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
