Publications Editor

Job Summary

The Publications Editor will be responsible for planning, editing, and overseeing the production of high-quality publications, including coffee table books, annual magazines, reports, newsletters, and other print and digital materials. The role ensures editorial excellence, consistency, accuracy, and timely delivery while coordinating closely with designers, writers, photographers, and printing vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, edit, and manage the end-to-end production of publications such as coffee table books, annual magazines, reports, and institutional publications.
  • Review, edit, and proofread content for clarity, accuracy, tone, grammar, and consistency with organizational style guidelines.
  • Develop editorial concepts, outlines, and content structures in coordination with management and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with writers, contributors, photographers, and subject matter experts to commission and finalize content.
  • Work closely with graphic designers to ensure alignment between editorial content, visuals, and layout.
  • Maintain editorial calendars, production schedules, and deadlines to ensure timely publication.
  • Ensure all publications meet quality standards, branding guidelines, and ethical and factual accuracy.
  • Manage revisions, approvals, and version control throughout the editorial and production process.
  • Liaise with printers and production vendors to ensure print-ready files, proof approvals, and final output quality.
  • Archive and maintain records of published materials for reference and future use.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Mass Communication, Publishing, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven experience in editorial work, publishing, or content management, preferably with books or magazines.
  • Excellent editing, proofreading, and language skills (English required; additional languages a plus).
  • Strong understanding of print production processes and publication workflows.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Adobe InDesign or similar publishing tools (preferred).
