Pulmonary Post-Acute ARNP (1099 PRN)

Location: Central Florida

Job Summary

We are seeking a Pulmonary Post-Acute Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to provide high-quality patient care within skilled nursing facilities throughout Central Florida. The provider will be responsible for conducting patient rounds, communicating with patients and facility staff, and delivering accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education, and follow-up care.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient examinations and obtain medical histories
  • Adhere to proper documentation and charting protocols
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging as appropriate
  • Submit patient healthcare plans and goals for physician review
  • Diagnose conditions and communicate results and treatment plans to patients
  • Administer and prescribe medications and treatments
  • Promote preventative care through patient education on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention
  • Administer vaccinations and inoculations as required
  • Refer patients to specialists when necessary for continuity of care
  • Report deaths and communicable diseases to appropriate governmental authorities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Current and unrestricted Florida APRN license
  • Current National Board Certification
  • Current DEA license
  • Post-acute care experience required
  • Minimum of one (1) year pulmonary experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare professionals to provide quality patient care

Additional Qualifications

  • Prior experience using an electronic medical records (EMR) system preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Reporting Relationship

Reports directly to the Supervisory Physician and Post-Acute Executive Director.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff
  • Ability to use a computer, printer, scanner, and other office equipment
  • Ability to sit, stand, and view a computer screen for extended periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
