Job Purpose:
To assist the purchasing team in sourcing, procuring, and maintaining adequate stock of medical drugs and pharmaceutical products at the most competitive prices, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in sourcing suppliers, collecting quotations, and preparing comparison sheets for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
- Support the Purchase Manager in negotiating prices, terms, and contracts with vendors.
- Maintain records of purchase orders, supplier agreements, and related documentation.
- Ensure timely procurement of required medicines and supplies to avoid stock outs.
- Coordinate with the warehouse/store team to track inventory levels and raise purchase requisitions as needed.
- Verify supplier invoices, delivery notes, and ensure alignment with purchase orders.
- Assist in vendor evaluation, registration, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Follow up with suppliers for on-time delivery and resolve any discrepancies in supply.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements (MOH, DHA, FDA, etc., depending on region).
- Generate regular purchase and stock status reports for management review.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in pharmaceuticals or healthcare.
- Knowledge of medical drugs, generic/brand names, and pharmaceutical supply chain.
- Familiarity with local health authority regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
