aJob Profile – Purchase Engineer- Manufactured Items

Qualification- BE ( Mech )

1) Experience- 5-7 Years at middle level in Purchase/Materials Dept of a company

manufacturing capital goods like CNC Machines/SPMs/Automation etc…..

2) Must have worked in Integrated ERP environment.

3) Fluency in English & sharp memory are desirable qualities.

4) Must have analytical ability, good at planning, well mannered, good in MS Office and Email

correspondence and data/documents management in PC/Laptop

5) Must have good interpersonal relations.

6) Knowledge of various machining processes, Fabrication, pressing, surface coating is a must

Nature of Job

1) Ensuring timely deliveries of indented goods and services so as to meet production

target fixed every month.

2) Coordinating with Planning and Production Team for achieving Just In Time deliveries of

high value items.

3) Negotiating with vendors for lower prices, free deliveries, credit terms, warranty period,

rejection returns etc… regularly and reducing cost with reference to current buying

prices.

4) Coordinating with stores for reducing inventory, quickly sending back rejections,

promptly sending goods to processors/machining vendors, making GRNs in 24Hrs etc

5) Coordinating with Service/Quality/Design and Production for quality related matters and

enhancing quality of goods/services procured.

6) Coordinating with Accounts Dept for supplier payments and helping accounts to make

budget w.r.t. supplier/service providers’ payments.

7) Alternate supplier/vendor development, supplier assessment and evaluation,

monitoring supplier performance and helping them to improve from current level.

8) Ensuring completeness of purchase related data in ERP like lead time, MoQ, HSN Codes,

contact details of vendors, UoM etc..

9) Identifying & arranging disposal of excess/non-moving/Obsolete inventory as guided by

the management.

10) Coordinating with transporter/logistic providers for tracking deliveries of incoming

goods.

11) Prepare MIS as required by management.

12) Costing Expertise is a must (for various machining processes)
