Job Title: Purchase Engineer - Sheet Metal Industry

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Purchase Engineer with strong technical and commercial acumen to manage procurement activities for sheet metal components, raw materials, and consumables. The ideal candidate should have experience in vendor management, cost control, and material planning within a sheet metal or fabrication environment.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for sheet metal components, fabrication parts, and raw materials.
• Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of materials based on production requirements.
• Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Coordinate with design, production, and quality departments to ensure purchased materials meet required specifications.
• Review engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documents for accuracy and sourcing feasibility.
• Maintain and update the approved vendor list (AVL) and monitor supplier performance.
• Ensure on-time availability of materials while optimizing inventory levels.
• Handle non-conformance materials and coordinate replacements or rework with suppliers.
• Maintain accurate purchase records, price comparisons, and documentation for audits and ISO compliance.
• Continuously identify cost reduction opportunities and support vendor development initiatives.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
• Experience: 4–6 years in procurement within the sheet metal or fabrication industry
• Technical Skills:
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes (cutting, bending, welding, powder coating, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & BOMs
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Tally, or similar)
• Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical abilities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
