JOB PROFILE:
Support procurement and supply chain activities including domestic and international sourcing, vendor coordination, import-export documentation, and timely material delivery aligned with project schedules and technical specifications
Qualifications:
- BE / BTech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 0–3 years’ experience in procurement (manufacturing/EPC preferred).
- Exposure to import-export documentation preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement & Sourcing
- Float RFQs based on approved BOMs and engineering drawings.
- Prepare techno-commercial comparisons.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and payment terms.
- Issue Purchase Orders as per approval matrix.
- Monitor delivery schedules and ensure on-time supply.
2. Technical Coordination
- Understand engineering specifications and drawings.
- Clarify technical deviations with vendors and internal engineering team.
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC requirements.
- Follow up for documentation such as MTCs, QAPs, test certificates, and drawings.
3. Vendor & Subcontractor Management
- Identify and onboard new domestic and international vendors.
- Maintain approved vendor list.
- Track vendor performance (quality, delivery adherence, responsiveness).
- Support expediting of long lead or critical items.
4. Import & Export Coordination
- Coordinate with overseas suppliers for shipment readiness.
- Verify commercial invoices, packing lists, HS codes, and Incoterms.
- Arrange and track shipments (air/sea freight).
- Coordinate with CHA for customs clearance.
- Ensure proper documentation for Bill of Entry, shipping bills, LUT, and related compliance.
- Track duty structures, IGST, and applicable exemptions.
- Maintain proper documentation for audit and regulatory compliance.
5. Project & Internal Coordination
- Align procurement schedule with project timelines.
- Update project team on procurement and shipment status.
- Coordinate with stores for material inward and GRN.
- Work closely with accounts for payment processing (LC, advance, TT payments).
6. MIS & Cost Control
- Maintain procurement status reports.
- Track budget vs actual purchase cost.
- Assist in cost-saving initiatives and vendor development.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to read mechanical drawings.
- Basic understanding of materials (CS, SS, piping, valves, fabrication items).
- Knowledge of Incoterms and basic customs processes.
- Strong follow-up and negotiation skills.
- ERP familiarity preferred.
