Job Summary

A Purchase Executive/Engineer is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services, which includes sourcing vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials that meet technical specifications.Key responsibilities involve maintaining purchase records, monitoring inventory, collaborating with internal teams like production and design, and ensuring compliance with company policies. This role requires strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills, along with familiarity with procurement software and supply chain procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Sourcing and vendor management: Research and evaluate potential vendors, build professional relationships, and maintain an approved supplier database.
  • Negotiation and contracting: Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
  • Order and delivery management: Prepare and process purchase orders, track orders, and ensure timely delivery of goods, coordinating with internal teams and following up on any delays.
  • Inventory and record maintenance: Monitor stock levels, inspect purchased items for quality, and maintain accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and invoices.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work with internal departments such as design, production, and quality to understand requirements and ensure smooth operations.
  • Market and cost analysis: Conduct market research to stay updated on trends and perform cost analyses to contribute to the company’s profitability.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Electronics & Communication Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management within an engineering or manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., ERP).
    • Familiarity with supply chain procedures.

    • Strong negotiation skills.
