Purchase Executive (Jewellery Industry)

Job Summary:

Responsible for sourcing and procuring raw materials (gold, diamonds, gemstones, silver, findings, packaging materials, etc.), maintaining vendor relationships, managing inventory levels, negotiating prices, and ensuring timely availability of materials to meet production and sales requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement of Raw Materials:

  • Purchase gold, diamonds, gemstones, and findings from approved vendors.
  • Procure packaging, display items, tools, and consumables required for jewellery production.

Vendor Management:

  • Identify and evaluate new vendors based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
  • Maintain healthy and long-term relationships with reliable suppliers.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.

Inventory Control:

  • Monitor stock levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
  • Coordinate with the production and sales team for material requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases and stock.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain purchase orders, invoices, GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes), and delivery challans.
  • Ensure all purchases comply with company policies and regulatory standards (BIS Hallmarking, etc.).
  • Coordinate with accounts for timely payments and reconciliations.

Cost Control & Budgeting:

  • Analyze price trends and market conditions.
  • Assist in budgeting for material procurement.
  • Work to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure materials received match the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Liaise with QC and production teams to resolve any quality issues.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Knowledge of precious metals, diamonds, gemstones, and findings
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Understanding of inventory and supply chain principles
  • Attention to detail and good analytical ability
  • Proficiency in ERP systems or inventory software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Marg)
  • Basic understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with hallmarking, certification, and other compliance requirements

Qualifications:

  • Graduate in Commerce, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management
  • Preferred: Diploma or certification in materials management or procurement
  • Experience: 5-8 years in the jewellery or luxury goods industry.
  • Languages: Proficiency in Marwari language preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
