Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchase Executive to manage procurement activities related to raw materials, consumables, and engineering goods within the steel industry. The ideal candidate will have experience in vendor management, negotiation, cost control, and supply chain coordination, with a strong understanding of steel grades, specifications, and market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and procure raw materials (e.g., scrap, billets, ferro alloys, etc.) and consumables required for steel production.
• Evaluate supplier performance and maintain a strong vendor base.
• Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Ensure timely issuance of Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up on delivery.
• Coordinate with stores, production, and quality departments for material planning and requirement forecasting.
• Maintain procurement records, including quotations, PO status, and invoices.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and legal guidelines in the procurement process.
• Monitor market trends to identify potential changes in price and availability.
• Work with the finance team for timely supplier payments and resolving invoice discrepancies.
• Support audits and ensure documentation is up to date and accurate.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of steel raw materials and engineering consumables.
• Familiarity with SAP, ERP, or procurement software.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and decision-making ability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of procurement experience in the steel or heavy manufacturing industry.
• Working knowledge of national and international steel markets is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
