The Purchase Head is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s procurement activities to ensure the timely availability of quality materials, goods, and services at competitive prices.
This role involves developing purchasing strategies, maintaining strong vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effectiveness while upholding compliance and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Identify, evaluate, and manage reliable suppliers and vendors.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, equipment, and services to meet production and business requirements.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse/production teams for stock optimization.
Establish and maintain supplier performance evaluation systems.
Manage import/export procurement processes (if applicable).
Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.
Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team.
Prepare and present periodic purchase reports, cost analysis, and budgets to management.
Drive continuous improvement in procurement systems, processes, and vendor management.
