To manage and oversee the entire purchasing process for gold, diamond, silver, and other jewellery inventory, ensuring timely procurement, cost efficiency, and quality standards in alignment with the company’s business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Management:
- Plan, source, and purchase gold, diamond, and other jewellery items based on sales trends and stock requirements.
- Maintain regular coordination with suppliers, karigars, and vendors to ensure timely deliveries and consistent quality.
- Inventory & Stock Planning:
- Monitor stock levels and reorder based on sales forecasts.
- Coordinate with showroom and design teams for new collection requirements.
- Maintain a balance between fast-moving and high-value inventory.
- Vendor Management:
- Identify and evaluate new vendors and artisans to expand sourcing channels.
- Negotiate rates, payment terms, and quality parameters.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with existing suppliers.
- Documentation & Record Keeping:
- Maintain purchase orders, bills, and vendor ledgers accurately.
- Ensure proper documentation for GST, hallmark, and vendor compliance.
- Coordination & Reporting:
- Work closely with accounts and inventory departments for purchase entries and stock valuation.
- Submit periodic reports on purchases, vendor performance, and cost trends to management.
Skills & Competencies:
- Deep understanding of jewellery categories (gold, diamond, silver, gemstones)
- Knowledge of market trends, karigar rates, and hallmarking standards
- Strong analytical and planning skills
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in jewellery purchase management is mandatory.
- Experience with retail jewellery brands or wholesalers will be an advantage
