- Build and maintain strong relationships with organic farmers, FPOs, mandis, and suppliers for daily procurement.
- Plan and forecast demand vs supply for fresh produce at store and warehouse level.
- Oversee daily procurement, grading, sorting, and dispatch to ensure minimal spoilage.
- Monitor price trends, negotiate competitive rates, and ensure organic quality standards are upheld.
- Verify that all farmers and vendors hold valid organic farming certifications and update records regularly.
- Coordinate with logistics and store teams to achieve on-time delivery and freshness.
- Maintain accurate purchase records, inward tracking, and vendor billing.
- Collaborate with QA team for inspection protocols, shelf-life checks, and compliance with organic standards.
- Track non-moving/slow stock to reduce wastage and recommend clearance or combo strategies.
- Ensure compliance with organic certification requirements and fair-trade practices.
- Partner with marketing team to support seasonal campaigns and promotions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agri-Business, or Supply Chain Management.
- 1–5 years of experience in procurement of fruits & vegetables (organic/FMCG/retail preferred).
- Strong vendor management, negotiation, and networking skills.
- Knowledge of perishables handling, cold chain, and farm procurement practices.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, inventory management tools, and reporting.
- Willingness to travel frequently to farms, mandis, and logistics hubs.
