The Purchase Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, products, and services required for the organization at the best possible price, quality, and delivery terms. The role ensures uninterrupted supply, cost optimization, vendor development, and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies aligned with company goals
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain best pricing, quality, and delivery terms
- Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and agreements
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores/production to avoid shortages or overstocking
- Identify and develop reliable vendors; maintain strong supplier relationships
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve supply-related issues
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and product availability
- Reduce procurement costs through value engineering and alternative sourcing
- Coordinate with accounts for invoice verification and timely payments
- Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory regulations, and audit requirements
- Prepare procurement reports, MIS, and cost analysis for management review
- Handle imports/exports (if applicable) and logistics coordination
- Lead and mentor the purchase/procurement team

Experience
