Position Overview
We are seeking a Purchase Manager to manage end-to-end procurement activities for our sterile parenteral plant. The role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, ensuring uninterrupted supply of materials, optimizing costs, and maintaining compliance with pharma quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for pharmaceutical products, raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, and engineering items.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential suppliers; maintain strong vendor relationships and conduct audits with QA support.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure continuous supply and avoid overstocking.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with cGMP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor market trends and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with QA, QC, Production, Engineering, and Finance teams to align procurement with operational needs.
- Prepare and present MIS reports on procurement activities, vendor performance, and cost optimization.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Graduate / MBA (Materials Management / Supply Chain preferred).
- Experience: 3–5 years in procurement, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry (sterile injectables/formulations).
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally).
- Understanding of pharmaceutical products, supply chain, and regulatory compliance.
