Job Description – Purchase (Sr. / Engineer / Manager / Sr. Manager)

Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat
Industry: Steel Manufacturing
Qualification: BE / Diploma (Mechanical / Electrical)
Salary: ₹7 to ₹9.6 LPA (Based on level & experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end procurement of engineering, mechanical, electrical, and production-related materials.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors & suppliers.
• Obtain competitive RFQs, quotations, and price negotiations.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders (POs) and ensure timely deliveries.
• Conduct cost comparison, cost-saving initiatives, and rate finalization.
• Maintain strong coordination with production, maintenance, quality, and stores teams.
• Track material shortages and ensure zero downtime due to material unavailability.
• Develop and maintain long-term supplier relationships.
• Monitor inventory, delivery schedules, and logistics follow-up.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and audit standards.
• Prepare reports: PR vs PO status, delivery schedule, vendor performance, etc.
• Implement best practices in strategic sourcing & supply chain management.

Skills & Experience Required

• Experience in Purchase / Procurement / Sourcing – Preferably in Steel or Heavy Manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical & electrical components.
• Good understanding of BOQ, technical specifications, and drawings.
• Excellent negotiation, communication & vendor management skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multi-level purchase responsibilities.
• ERP/SAP knowledge preferred.

Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
