Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Source and purchase a wide range of seafood (domestic and imported), ensuring quality, price, and availability meet company standards.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fisherman, and processors.
• Monitor seafood market trends, pricing, and availability daily.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with vendors.
• Coordinate with sales team and warehouse team regarding inventory, to ensure optimal stock levels and customer fulfilment.
• Maintain accurate purchase records and inventory tracking.
• Ensure all products meet food safety, regulatory and sustainability standards.
• Respond to urgent purchasing needs and adapt quickly to changes in supply or demand.
• Occasional pick-up of products.

Qualifications 

• 2-5 years of experience in seafood purchasing, seafood sales, or related roles in the seafood industry.  
•  Strong understanding of seafood species, seasonality, handling, and quality standards.  
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management.  
• Must be detailed oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.  
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast demand and manage inventory effectively.  
• Experience with procurement or inventory management software is a huge plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
