Job Title: Purchasing Analyst
Location: South Elgin, IL
Salary: $63,000-$78,000
LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Purchasing Analyst to join our client's organization in the South Elgin, IL area.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage day‑to‑day purchasing activities for products, components, and supplies, including issuing and maintaining purchase orders.

Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including evaluating pricing, negotiating terms, and resolving discrepancies.

Analyze spend data, purchasing trends, and supplier performance to identify cost‑saving opportunities and supply risks.
-
Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to assess pricing competitiveness, quality, reliability, and compliance.
-
Support contract negotiations through data analysis, cost comparisons, and recommendations.
-
Monitor inventory levels, supplier lead times, and delivery performance to support production and service requirements.

Maintain accurate supplier records, pricing agreements, and purchasing documentation within ERP or procurement systems.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as planning, logistics, inventory, finance, quality, and sales to align purchasing needs.

Track and report procurement metrics, savings, and performance indicators for management review.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to purchasing processes, data accuracy, and system optimization.
Key Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred.

Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or a related analytical role.

Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with data, reports, and analysis.

Experience using ERP or procurement systems to manage purchasing activities and supplier data.

Knowledge of purchasing processes, sourcing strategies, and basic contract concepts.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external suppliers.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a fast‑paced environment.

Proactive mindset focused on cost control, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
-
Professional certifications in purchasing or supply chain are a plus.
