Purchasing Assistant

Summary of position
Essential to ensure accurate information is recorded in computer software thus ensuring correct amounts are ordered for customer jobs.

Essential functions and duties
Detailed computer data entry of various numbers and letters from blueprints
Search for and purchase correct products from vendors
Coordination through phone and email with vendors
Follow up and tracking of orders
Use of Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level
Follow Company policies and procedures
Other duties may be assigned, directed or requested

Qualifications
Must be able to use a computer and Microsoft suite at an intermediate level
Able to gauge correct estimate for time management and prioritize work based on job due dates
Must be able to read and write English
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
Must have excellent attention to detail for extended periods of time
Knowledge of hardware and metal materials are a plus
Must be able to learn and do the job correctly

Physical Requirements
Work will primarily be performed in an office environment and may be exposed to occasional dust
May occasionally have to move hardware and/or boxes up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to sit a computer up to eight (8) hours per day, and type using a computer keyboard with periodic break
Must be able to hear verbal communication
Must be able to observe and hear machines, equipment, signs, and signals when within areas of the company

Must be able to pass a drug test, and have acceptable results for personnel potential analysis, aptitude test and IQ test. No college degree required.
