Our growing team is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to focus on the Softline side of our business! The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks. Responsibilities:
  • Support sourcing initiatives by assisting Buyers in identifying, evaluating, and securing products that meet category and business needs.
  • Coordinate with Buyers to manage sales order requirements and ensure accurate, timely sourcing decisions.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain data, reports, and documentation that support the sourcing and procurement process.
  • Perform routine data entry and system maintenance to keep sourcing records accurate, including:
    • Setting up new vendors and maintaining vendor information.
    • Entering product data and verifying item/SKU details.
    • Ensuring quotes and pricing requests are completed promptly.
    • Maintain and update assortment plans with detailed SKU information under Buyer guidance.
  • Assist with seasonal purchasing activities, including drafting and updating purchase orders.
  • Process, track, and manage purchase orders; communicate updates or changes to vendors as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create wave breaks and generate POs to support operational needs.
  • Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare written summaries with sourcing recommendations for Buyers.
  • Monitor and track sell-through performance for assigned categories to support replenishment and sourcing decisions.
  • Manage sample rooms, including shipment coordination, packaging, and delivery to designated Buyers.
  • Communicate sample requests and follow-ups directly with vendors.
  • Serve as a sourcing department representative to stores, customers, and internal teams.
  • Provide timely responses to store and customer inquiries related to product availability or sourcing status.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years or older
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales administration and support required.
  • High proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel in particular)
  • Retail soft lines experience is a major plus!
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced, high volume work environment
  • Adept at problem identification and resolution.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and possess a high level of initiative.
  • High level of interest in growing a career in buying / procurement.

Scheduling Requirements / Working Conditions:
  • 8-hour shifts
  • 100% onsite
  • Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours to meet critical deadlines
  • Possible travel with store employees to support business needs.
