Purpose:

Varies The Buyer plays a highly visible and critical role within ITG Communications’ procurement function. This position is responsible for sourcing materials, obtaining competitive quotes, processing purchase order (PO) requests, and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of materials to support operational needs. The Buyer partners with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and compliant purchasing in alignment with company policies and business goals.

Requirements

Education:


Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, or a related field preferred


Experience:


  • Minimum 2 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in a telecommunications, construction, or field services environment
  • Demonstrated success in vendor management, quoting, and purchase order processing
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and purchasing systems preferred


Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Execution


  • Gather competitive quotes from approved vendors and negotiate pricing and terms to achieve cost and quality targets.
  • Process purchase order requests from departments across the company, ensuring accuracy, appropriate authorization, and timely issuance.

• Monitor open POs, track shipments, and confirm receipt of materials at designated locations. • Ensure the right materials are delivered to the right place, at the right time, in the right quantities.


Vendor Management & Compliance

• Maintain and update the approved/preferred supplier list. • Support supplier evaluation, onboarding, and performance monitoring in coordination with the Purchasing Manager. • Ensure compliance with ITG’s purchasing policies, procedures, and ethical standards. • Resolve supplier or delivery issues promptly and professionally.


Vendor Management & Compliance

  • Maintain and update the approved/preferred supplier list.
  • Support supplier evaluation, onboarding, and performance monitoring in coordination with the Purchasing Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with ITG’s purchasing policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration


  • Develop mechanisms to drive process improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.
  • Engage stakeholders across departments to understand and eliminate barriers in the purchasing workflow.
  • Communicate key learnings, best practices, and procurement insights across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities with other functions such as Finance, Operations, and Logistics to ensure smooth material flow and budget alignment.


Key Measures / Key Performance Indicators:


  • Purchase order accuracy and turnaround time
  • On-time delivery rate and supplier performance
  • Cost savings achieved through negotiation or process improvement
  • Compliance rate with approved purchasing policies and supplier list
  • Internal stakeholder satisfaction with purchasing responsiveness


Exposure


  • Frequent interaction with Operations, Field Management, and Warehouse teams to coordinate material needs and delivery schedules
  • Collaboration with Finance and Accounting to support budgeting, PO approvals, and cost control
  • Regular communication with external suppliers and vendors for quoting, order fulfillment, and issue resolution


Factors critical to success at ITG Communications for this position:


  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all purchasing documentation and vendor transactions

• Effective communication and collaboration across departments and with external suppliers • Ability to prioritize and problem-solve in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment


Physical Requirements:


  • Primarily office-based with frequent use of a computer and standard office equipment
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks such as data entry
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs when handling materials, samples, or supply shipments
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via email
